Suse Profession 7.1 $70 and 7 cds later :D I figured I would add it to my O/S collection of RH6.2, Slack 7.1, and BSD 4.2. Can you tell I like to tinker with a little bit of everything. Now all I need is a copy of Debian :D I just want to see what all of the hype is all about in each distro, and what better way to find out than to use them all  I'm just waiting for my head to explode considering that I'm a newbie and I'm tring to experiment with 4 distros, learn C++ from a book, and trying to get this fscking modem working with RH6.2!!!! Wish me luck....he he

Hey bowtie, you ain't jsut talking to me you know? Theres a bunch of other people 4? maybe 5? ;).
Theres alot of praise for SuSE on some older threads in how it handles right out of the install. You sure are jumping head first though!

You can buy debian like i guess you know or try to download an iso and burn it . But i guess you know that allready . Actually i must say that Redhat 7 with the Helix Gnome looks pretty kewl to me .
But lots of ppl seem to love debian and slackware . Dunno whats that all about . didnt try one of those yet - till now i was still fighting with my RedHat . lol

Sorry Sensei, I didn't know how many sang the praises of Suse. Well, I'm 1 for 3 as far as installation success. The only box it liked so far is the one at my work. Go figure. Is it just me or does it take fooorrreeevveeerr to boot up into KDE? It detected everything correctly except my sound card, which it says it can't find the modules for the SB16. Seems a little bloated to me but a) I'm a newbie and what do I know :D, b) I haven't had much time to tinker with it yet.... Pretty wierd to try to read some of the stuff in German though....LOL This is also my first time to see KDE2 and KOffice. Oh yeah, YaST2 ROCKS!!! Pretty neat for a gui utility.
