XFree86 4.0.2 Problem

I've installed xfree86 4.0.2 on my linux mdk 7.2 with kernel 2.4.4. I ran XFre86 -Configure also, but that didn't help. I followed XFree86 installation guide and did what it said, but when I type startx or whatever it does not launch and says:

(EE) No drivers found

Fatal server error
no screens found

Please Help!!

did you install the right xserver for your card?

Have you tried /usr/X11R6/bin/xf86config or /usr/X11R6/bin/Xconfigurator?

Remember to back up your XF86Config/XF86Config-4 file(s) before you try it though.
