I am using eterm .8.10. I am wondering how can I save the setting I have made in eterm. I tried its drop down menu, but it seems like
its not taking any effects... any suggestions?

Yah, u gotta hack the config files and make the changes you want to stick in there. I did it awhile back, but not using Eterms anymore... Ask in #Enlightenment or #E if it's still around.

IC... so what term are you using now? Since it is the only term I have tried, I am wondering if there are better (and esier)ones. I have heard some other terms like Wterm?, Aterm?
Btw, where is #Enlightment and #E?

I edited the config file by hand, and added a cool "Matrix" background. The file you need to edit is called "MAIN" (all caps) it is located in
/usr/X11R6/share/themes/Eterm/
forgive me if I am missing a directory....
I know this part is correct "/usr/X11R6"

Then use vi (or any of the "lesser" editors) and change the settings...

Right now I use Gnome-Terminal, it has transparency, good enuff for me...

Aterm is nice, too.

Login as root, change the settings, safe the settings (menu in the upper left, ctrl+right click if it isn't there), logout, login as user.
Only as root your settings will be safed...
