xawtv under Redhat 7.2 ??

I have a BT848A tuner card, an nvidia geforce 2 ti video card (nvidia drivers), Redhat 7.2 with the Ximian desktop, and xawtv-3.64 (built the rpm from source). Xawtv will run but all I can get is a fuzz at the top of the screen. I've switched to "pal, ntsc, and secam" changed chanels and source but still no picture. What am I missing?

did u scan for channels first and put them into the conf file ?

hmmm, running scantv does not find any stations. Maybe it is a receiver problem, not a video problem. I may have to try the card in another box.

Well, I put the card in a windows box and works. This confirms the cable and card are working, so the trouble must be lurking somewhere in my linux box. Any suggestions?
