I'm at my uncle's work here with a nice fast connectionm so I'm dl'ing stormixm because drake was just pissing me off, and if i can get cable, apt-get would be good. Some ppl here were saying that they had kde2 for debian, and I wanna get that stuff here and burn it http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif
Thanks

I guess if you want to burn it, you can. But really, install Storm (or whatever Debian-type distro you have), find Craig's monster sources.list (search for it in the lno archives) and add it to you're existing /etc/apt/sources.list , then...
apt-get update
apt-get install kdebase
and you're done! It'll download and install all the kde2 stuff you need to get it going.
If you're using Storm, I can tell you that, after installing it with apt-get you will need to open a terminal as root, then:
cd /etc/gdm/Sessions
ln Debian kde2
and that will add kde2 to your login menu (if you're starting with a graphic one -- I use helix gnome but have enjoyed the change of pace of kde2).
(As a side note, I did apt-get update, then apt-get install task-koffice and it installed all the necessary kde2 stuff plus all the koffice stuff... very nice, indeed! Konqueror is really great!)
So, burn if you like but it's not necessary.

I spy with my little eye something that begins with "W"... oops, it's gone now.
