x window problem

Hopefully someone can help me, I am fairly new with Linux. I installed Mandrake 7.2, and am having a problem with the x window setup. I have an Optiquest monitor with a Voodoo 3 video card. Any time I go into Xconfigurator and test the settings, it gives me a screen with the info of the settings, and tells me to try some other parameters, I do, and it still doesn't work.
Please help!

try using XF86Setup instead of Xconfigurator. It is alittle easier to work with. ANd make sore that all the settings are correct. It sound like you might have picked a setting that is out of your monitors range or that something else isn't configured right. Make sure that the right mouse,keyboard,etc.. are chosen. It might be as simple as a wrong mouse setting. Hope that this helps.
