How do I install the "Matrix" screensaver that I liked in Mandrake 7.1...in to Mandrake 7.2?

I'm really dissapointed that it's not here...

Are you sure it's not there? Most recent distros come with the Matrix ss as standard.

Look on your linux cdrom or go to freshmeat.net and search for xscreensaver package the latest version will most likely have it.Hope this helps.

I am totally confused...

That screensaver is NOT there. However, when I look at the packagesin the package manager I see TWO "xscreensaver" packages. One has it and the other doesn't.

When I tried to install it told me that it was already installed...but it sure ain't there.

Am I supposed to UN-install one before I IN-stall another one? Am I locked in to ONLY having certain packages?

Thx...

Is one of the packages an update of the other one? If so, your distro should have an upgrade manager, or you can use the handy-dandy command line. Or, when in doubt, I spose you could uninstall and put it back in. Just a thought. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

Thx, but I tried all that.

I don't even know what directories to look in for the files or configs...I've looked all over.

I can find the files I want...but I don't know WHY they aren't in the screensaver area???
