I'm new to linux, i'm using mandrake linux(7.1)..
u guys know how there's the graphics setup for linux.. i tried that, but then my mouse and keyboard doesnt seem to work there, so i ran the text setup, finished setup
booted up, then x-windows starts kb and mouse wouldnt work again... whats the problem? how can i fix it.. keyboard- just a normal 101 keyboard, and mouse is a ms intellimouse

this is not the first time i tried linux.. previoiuslly.. i could use my keyboard and mouse in both setup and x-win
video card : banshee

i m thinking that it's the video card.. so i'm downloading mandrake 7.2 since there's "new" drivers that comes with it..
also, i ran failsafe mode.. keyboard works under console...

I ran xf86config, didnt help.. also Xconfigurator.. computer froze when it was testing the X-Win's resolution..

Dell 333, 192 ram, Banshee, PS/2 Intellimouse, normal keyboard (PS/2?), umm what else... no other O/S's on the system..

During Mandrake installs I've had to go back and choose the mouse, as it skipped right to the keyboard selection. Otherwise, it would choose a mouse on its own. The wrong mouse selection has stopped the install process for me.

From the command line, type XF86Setup - that's the xconfig program.
