kernel upgrading

Do anyone have any good instructions on how to upgrade a 2.2.17 kernel to a 2.4 kernel for mandrake 7.2?

The NHF (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/compiling/kernelcomp.html) will work pretty closely for the test kernels. Have you looked at it? It's pretty informative. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif
