which one's faster?
more stable?
right now i'm using helix gnome instead of kde because the panel also contains a task applet (kind of thing). i mean that with kde, the tasks are shown on a separate bar which i didn't like very much. does kde2 fix this problem? also, does kde2 allow you to resize the panel.
thanx,

At first I thought Kde was a bit slower than Gnome 1.2, but it turns out it was because I was running the Seti@Home client with a default priority that was too high; it was eating up power that Kde could use to run smoothly. I have a 333MHz processor with 96mB of RAM.
I think Kde2 is much better than Gnome 1.2 (After all, I got bored with Gnome 1.2 and stopped using it. SOME TIME LATER, I installed Kde2 and am using it now. I don't even miss Gnome) as it looks and "feels" more coherent; I can work better in it than without it now.
And YES, they finally merged that damned taskbar into the control panel so they aren't seperate any more (although there might be an option to seperate them somewhere).

I just wish there was a way for me to run Enlightenment as the window manager for kde like I can with Gnome.
