I run Debian 2.2.
I can "pon ISP" and the modem connects just fine. I have install IP Masking and it works just fine. When I go into pppconfig and set the paramaters of ISP to Demand or Persist dialing, the modem doesnt work at all even if I manually try to start it using pon ISP.
Any Idea??

EDIT: I've tried 2 different external modems. USR 56K and Multitech 56K v.90!
