Does anyone know a good player for either of these types of media files? I used to run them with Realplayer in Windoze, but they won't work in SuSE. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? kuber 05-02-2001, 02:35 PM The xmms plugins are nice. mudbone357 05-02-2001, 02:36 PM not to sound as ignorant as I really am, but what are the xmms plugins? And how do I get them? ph34r 05-02-2001, 02:44 PM You may want smpeg (gtv) and avifile. They work fine for me. manual_overide 05-02-2001, 02:48 PM install a program called xmovie. It will play nearly all .mpg files and most .avi files. mudbone357 05-02-2001, 02:53 PM are there any dependant libraries I need to run xmovie? mudbone357 05-02-2001, 03:00 PM actually, I just went to get xmovie, and it seems to not want to run. I can't even recognize the rpm because it has a number below 3. Do you know what that's about? trueNewbie 05-04-2001, 07:47 PM i use mplayer, its a really nice player that supports just about everything. http://mplayer.sourceforge.net/homepage/ I couldn't get any other player working quite as nice as this one. -later trueNewbie 05-04-2001, 08:26 PM i got the same error with xmovie too. Let me know if you know what thats about. TaeShadow 05-04-2001, 08:38 PM I second the recommendation for mplayer. justlinux.com
