Hey guys, I was running Mandrake7.2 dual boot with win98 (using grub as a boot menu tool). I formated my win98 partition, and installed winME, but that seems to have removed grub. Is there any way i can get grub back without reinstalling linux? i don't have a linux boot disk anywhere around. Thanks for the help.

You could try booting from Mandrake 7.2 and choose the Update, but be careful not to format the partition again, select No or Skip
when this option comes up. I've done this back in the 6.0 & 7.0 releases. I Do Make Sure I Have A Boot Disk Now.. I also dual boot from the Dos prompt using Loadlin.exe.
BUT with ME I hope you have a Start-Up disk around for that also. ME won't let you get to the Dos prompt Without It!

So does this mean I have to actually reinstall Mandrake?

What happened is that WinME rewrote your MBR, that's why you install LINUX after. Follow this link in MandrakeUser.org that will walk you through the GRUB install.
