installing programs-very newbie

Im very new to linux. Just install storm 2000. I want to install Corel Photopaint from a cd(Maximum Linux) havent a clue how to do it. Please help me get it.

There are different ways to install depending on what kind of file you have. Does your file end with .rpm or .tar.gz or even something else? If you give a little more information, someone will surely help you here!
