Wow! I downloaded an older build of Mozilla about a year ago, but didn't keep it for too long. This new one is great!!! I just set it up tonite, but if I keep getting the performance from it that I have been, Netscape is gone for good.
If you don't have it yet, get it and use it. This seems to be the most promising browser for linux, and the more people who use it, the easier it is for the developers to really perfect it.

I've got 0.9.7 installed. I love it. But I have to keep my old Netscape 4.7 for 2 reasons. 1 I need the composer in 4.7 for creating html pages for my family tree. 4.7's composer works the best aside from Quanta. Also I just setup my online banking but it needs 4.7 encryption to work so until I figure how to set it in Moz I have to keep NS4.7. But Moz is my main browser/mail/newsgroup server.

Yeah, Mozilla is getting really promising. It has some good features that no other browsers have, but it's still a bit clunky in a few ways. The tabs aren't quite right just yet (a hybrid of the Opera and Galeon tab behavior would be optimal for me), but they are of course, better than no tabs. The rendering is great (always has been), and support for external handlers is getting simpler too.
However, I still opt for Galeon or Opera first, and then Mozilla.

I was using 0.9.5 for a long time was going nuts because when typing I had to make a few extra tab keystrokes to select the 'next' button when filling out forums and stuff...after getting 0.9.8 last month I've been very happy :D

This relates to anytime anyone upgrades mozilla, but what about the plugins?
I just installed Flash and working on Adobe acrobat reader, but when you upgrade do these carry over to the new version, or do you have to re-install these all over again?
just thinking about this over the last few days.
thanks

I've been using the same plugins since M18 (or earlier), so yeah, they hold over. :)

I find that the mozilla menus are really slow to respond. I get a lot better performance out of skipstone. It's not nearly as polished as mozilla though.

Here's some heresy. Having used all the browsers mentioned above, I feel Internet Explorer works the best (when in Windows). It was fast, easy to install, and the plug-ins were optimized to work pretty well with it.
The new Mozilla is nice, but with Galeon on top, it works a lot better. I just wish the plugins were easier to configure. Acrobat Reader is a real chore to configure. Any suggestions for being able to fill out PDF forms on line without using "Reader"?

Put nppdf.so in mozilla plugins dir then acrobat works fine with mozilla.

If you download the "psm" RPM from www.mozilla.org, (http://www.mozilla.org,) that should address the 128-bit encryption requirements.

Well yeah, just for ****s and giggles I gave it a run and sure enough got the site up and setup my account. I guess now I'm bucking my country roots and snubbing that old Randy Travis song.

Ummm, Randy Travis has a song about 128-bit encryption and online banking? Man! Talk about artistic range! :D
