I currently run a KT133chipset mobo and would like to upgrade sometime soon to the KT333 chipset. Does anyone know if this chipset is supported yet? I currently run RH7.2 w/kernel 2.4.9-21.
Thanks

Thanks Spazegun2213 05-02-2002, 02:24 PM good question, i actually have no idea yet, but i am also running RH7.2 and might upgrade. i suppose it is, but if 7.2 is not, just wait for 7.3 (newer must be better right?). demian 05-02-2002, 02:59 PM Yes, it is supported. I'm running it without any problems bwkaz 05-02-2002, 07:00 PM As a general rule, the motherboard chipset has zero to do with anything. Which is why it still amazes me why Windows needs drivers for specific bridges, but that's beside the point. The one part of the chipset that might give you trouble is the south bridge's IDE controller, but since that's a Via 8233a, and the 8233 is supported by the kernel (you may have to recompile the kernel if you've compiled specifically for your hardware), you shouldn't have a problem. Other than that, PCI is PCI; all the chipsets are based on it, so they're all the same. vxmine 05-03-2002, 06:42 AM Thanks alot for the info. justlinux.com
