cable modem sharing

I just got Roadrunner cable hooked up to my Windows 2000 server. I have been learning Linux on the side and want to share the connection on my Redhat 7.1 box. I am confused on what I need to do this? (Different sites have said different things). Do I need to purchase another Ip? Can I just use a hub or do I need a router?

I have heard that the configuration is very difficult, but I it least would like to start off with the right setup. Thanks for the help.

You only need 1 ip address.

Use either Linux OR W2K with 2 ethernet cards and a hub to act as a router or use 1 ethernet card in each and get a separate router such as the Linksys. Lots of choices.
