OK, I have a lilo.conf file that is all fine. I run lilo and it says
added linux *
added dos

this is good, but I don't get a prompt. Windows just loads straight away. I think that it's installing itself in /dev/hda5 rather that the MBR. How do I fix this?

OK well now I get a MBR: prompt and when I push anything it just loads windows. WTF. How can this be fixed. I don't like using a bootdisk. Aside from this problem I am loving Debian, and still haven't even configured X yet.

Add

prompt

to the first section of /etc/lilo.conf
