hi.

The motherboard I have will go into a deep sleep under a linux console, *outside* of X.. it will power down hard discs, etc. However, inside of X this doesn't happen: As soon as the motherboard powers down, for some reason it is powered back up again.

What is forcing it to power back up again, and how can i get around this?

Thanks.

hello,
xset -q should tell you if DPMS is enabled. why it would cause you MB to start up agian is another matter. this is ussally controlled by hdparm ... on my box anyway. there is probably more tahnone whay to do it.
