I am completely new to linux and i am currently using the graphical interface of linux or i think it is called X or something.
I wonder how can i change the resolution to 800x600 or higher.
Also how can i access win98 partitition through Linux.

You will need to learn about 'mounting' (check here (http://www.linuxdocs.org) for some HOWTO's). Also, on the GUI interface there should be an entry along the lines of 'Display Settings' where you can select your resolution. It will be with the other 'system settings' in your GUI. I don't know the actual files to edit manually off the top of my head, though, so if anyone else knows, gimme a hand! http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif

the + has to be on the keypad...
other than that, I've had to play with a lot of settings (including monitor settings) to get a better refresh in X. What distro/version do you have?
