How do you change the login prompt so when someone wants to telnet into my machine they only see login and not my Linux version and kernel build?
Thanks!

Thanks! ille_pugil42 11-17-2000, 10:41 AM IIRC, issue and motd in /etc/ have that info, as well as some text files for ftp (I can't remember those names) have all that info right in 'em. I know it's vague, hope it helps. MikeV 11-17-2000, 11:22 AM I edited /etc/motd and changed what it said. -M ------------------ Windows 98 has detected your mouse has moved. Please reboot for the changes to take effect. posterboy 11-17-2000, 11:26 AM Read carefully the comments in /etc/rc.d/rc.local. Issue is generated anew, at every boot, but it can be changed in there to anything you like.
