I have a PC Chips mothermoard that comes with the SIS 620 Graphics Chipset and I have Linux Mandrake 7.2 and when I start X the graphics look cut, jagged, cliping and I cant display more than 640x480x8. I did set up the card as unlisted and with the SVGA server but I still get only 1024x786x16 display and cant use other displays and cant use KDE because it still has alot of problems. Besides I want to use al the freatures of the card and i cant do that with failsafe servers. Please Help

Is the SIS 620 supported by the version of X that Mandrake 7.2 uses? If not, then you may want to check at www.xfree86.org (http://www.xfree86.org) to see if it's supported, by which version and upgrade X if necessary.

I had a similar problem with my SiS 630 chipset on my MoBo. I ended up upgrading to Mandrake 8, and it fixed it, and I figured out why: Mandrake 8 uses XFree86 3.3.6/4.0, which worked pretty well with the graphics adapter.
