CD-RW installed and removes the DVD

I installed a 24x10x40x CD-RW in Win98 SE and when booting Linux it recognized the new hardware and configured it. Now I am unable to initialize the DVD and play a regular CD.

What do I have to do to uninstall the CD-RW in linux so the DVD will work?

Did you install the CD-RW as master or slave? If you installed it as master and moved the DVD drive, the DVD drive is just probably under a different device name now.
