Hi. I've just installed Mozilla M17 on my Mandrake 7.2 system but could only run it as root. When I tried to run it as nonroot, I got:

./run-mozilla.sh: line 72: 16747 Segmentation fault $prog ${1+"$@"}

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Mozilla is still under development. I would reccomend going to www.mozilla.org (http://www.mozilla.org) and downloading the latest nightly build.

at least try M18, if I recall correctly, that had a nice handy-dandy installer. Should work out alot better for you.

I made a typo. I actually installed Mozilla M18, not M17! Any help?

What permissions are on the files?

is it root root or root net for instance...

If it is root root and there are no run permissions for world (security risk) then you won't be able to run it...

If you set up the mozilla directory recursively as being owned by the group net for instance and then make your user part of the group net, then you should be able to run it w/o a problem... (I think that the user and group permissions are the same on those files -- could be wrong though http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif)

Good luck on it...
