Where do I find Linux's network utilities.

Someone said that linux had basic networking utilities that had your absolute basic FTP program. I'm not looking for anyhting fancy at all just ftp. Where do I find these utilities? I installed Mandrake 7.2 with A complete installation. Any help would be appreciated.

Just open a console and type: ftp ftp.server.com and it should work.

Well that doesn't work. Someone told me that I need to install Linux's network utilities. Where can I find these? I don't really like graphical FTP clients like gftp I'd like to just open an xterm and type ftp. Thanks for any help again.
