Hi all,
Could someone pls confirm the following about Linux:
1.Which version would be best to get hold of. I believe 7.0 is latest.
2. Would it be good idea to get 7 or wait till its been around for longer with updates and fixes. If so, which is the most stable, tryed & tested version ?
3. Where is it best to get it. Could it be downloaded or would be easier to get on cd ?
4. Need to be able to run Apache, Mysql, php3,php4 & Java.

Depending on your experence level, I'd go with debian or slackware, they'll give you a rough time of it right off, but they work soo much better, Redhat (which I'm assuming your talking about) is pretty buggy and way too ... windowsized... to me. Take a look at your needs, in terms of ease of use, and what you need. All linux distros will pretty much run that stuff.
Also, look though the NHF's too, there is a distro NHF

Q: How many existentialists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: Two. One to screw it in and one to observe how the lightbulb itself symbolizes a single incandescent beacon of subjective reality in a netherworld of endless absurdity reaching out toward a maudlin cosmos of nothingness.

BSD is a bit harder than linux and is generally more secure.
