Just installed Linux-Mandrake7.2.
When i click on the cdrom icon on the desktop I get this error message
Error-KDesktop
Inable to enter file:/mt/cdrom
You do not have access rights to this location.
I have logged in as root and still get this error.
I also have a problem with my sound card i logged out and typed in sndconfig and got this to detect my soundcard here is the message:

A PCI sound card was found in your system. the details are : Model Rockwell Semiconductor systemsiMaster Riptide PCI Audio Controller. then it tells me it is not supported. Any suggestions?
I have A HP Pavillon 6535C
It has the onbaord intergrated sound card and Modem. Yes the winmodem does not work either. I have linux installed on a second hard drive (a maxtor 40 gig)

I am guessing here as I dont use Mandrake anymore. You might have suppermount enabled so what you do is put a data cdrom in the drive and then use a file manager to go to /mnt/cdrom.It could also be that you are using a burner as a cdrom drive and thus your cdrom link is not right. As for the lovely modem/soundcard chip http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif disable it in bios,go buy a SBLive value and an EXTERNALSerial modem.
