Glibc?

I am just wondering what Glibc is, and also what version is usually included with Red Hat 6.2?

Glibc is the core system libraries - the stuff that all the programs are compiled against, and expect to find. These libraries are sorta like windows dll's. RH6.2 ships with 2.1.3 I think. And RH 7 is up to 2.2.something
