I have been having a few problems getting Mandrake 7.2 to recognise my monitor. It picks up my video card no problem, but when it comes to the monitor, I have to stick with one crappy configuration to make it work. Also when I try to change it in KDE2, it crashes. Everytime.
I have a Jaton Blaze3d video card and an LG Studioworks 56i monitor. I doubt there is anyone with this configuration anywhere else, but if someone has a solution for my troubles I will gladly travel the world and give them a packet of choc-dot-crispies for their trouble. Any solution welcome, just so long as it works.

hello...

when Mandrake asks for the type of monitor installed, just set the monitor to "Generic monitor that can do 1280x1024 @ 60Hz"... I've just read LG's specs regarding your monitor, and accrding to them:

Multi-synchronous compatibility from VGA through XGA-2 graphics standards, including 1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz non-interlaced, and flicker-free at 1024 x 768 at 70-80 Hz.

if you have any more problems, maybe I could give other check points to solve your problem... just try the above suggestion for now...
