okay, i'm trying to use ssh from my work computer (windoze) to access my home computer.. which I can do.. but I want to use X-windows on my home server..

1. I have a firewall, and I have it setup to allow from my work ip address

2. I have setup vncserver, it runs good.

3. I login to my home server via ssh.

4. I have tried "vncviewer" and first got a display error, so I exported my display to server:1 and it finally stopped giving me an error. Now all it does after I type "vncviewer" is sit there.


What am I doing wrong?

Right, you're goinb about it the wrong way.

Set up the vncserver on your box
set up vncclient.exe on your windows box
connect

No need for ssh, telnet or anything
