I need a good linux compatible 19" monitor. I really don't want to fight with X86 over this. Oh, and I need it el cheapo, for I am poor. If you know a good place to buy from, give it up please :) Thanks!!

kris

p.s. I am running Progeny

I'd imagine any display you choose would work fine under linux, just as long as you make sure your graphics card can handle a decent res, and you change your XF86Config file to reflect your new display.
Personally I'd get a ViewSonic; they've got some really nice 19" displays. I've seen a decent model for around $350. or so. I wouldnt skimp; after all, we're talking about something you wil be looking at for hours at a time (if you're like me that is) ;)

for the budget conscious, there are some ok monitors for good prices at sam's club and costco, if you have one of those warehouse clubs near you

You still have my address just in case you don't like it?

All monitors are compatible with Linux. They just have to be setup correctly. Sometimes you can select the exact predefined model during the setup of X and others have to be manually configured. My 19" was listed in the monitor selection screen. Made it quite easy.
