To get Storm working I am trying to follow this NHF:
http://linuxnewbie.internet.com/nhf/intel/hardware/udma66.html

But when I run cat /proc/pci from in Slackware (which I currently have installed) Instead of printing something like this:

Unknown mass storage controller: Promise Technology Unknown device (rev 1). Vendor id=105a. Device id=4d38.
Medium devsel. IRQ 5. Master Capable. Latency=64.
I/O at 0x1400 [0x1401].
I/O at 0x10f4 [0x10f5].
I/O at 0x10f8 [0x10f9].
I/O at 0x10f0 [0x10f1].
I/O at 0x1080 [0x1081].

Like its supposed to, it prints this:

Can't you unplug it from that controller and plug it into the regular one on your mobo to simply install, then recompile the kerlen for UDMA support, then put it back on the UDMA66 controller?
Have you asked the stormix maillist? http://www.stormix.com/community/lists/listinfo/stormlinux-users-list

Give those a shot.

Ok, I posted there but no one seems to know, or they don't want to answer http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif

I'm sure someone knows... sometimes you'll get an answer right away or not for a day or so.
I would suggest pulling it from your UDMA controller and pluggind it into the standard/slower one, installing, then compiling your kernel for UDMA support (can be done, I think).
Then plug your harddrive back into the UDMA controller.
