Upgrade to XFree86 4.1

After following the instructions on http://www.xfree86.org for upgrading to 4.1.0 I can't get to any window manager other than twm (at least i think that's what the one i'm looking at is). I've switched to boot to kdm and tried logging in that way to kde, gnome, e, etc.. but everything just brings up twm any suggestions or has anyone else seen this issue?

Try launching as kdestart or gnome-session from console. That is suppose to start X and the associated desktop. I think sawfish was just sawfish. Check the man pages for the WM and see if that works. The config for kdm might be messed up.
