apt RPM

Has anyone had any experience with the RPM port of apt? I would like to try it out but I have read that its still beta and very likely will hose your box. I think I read that on the conectiva web site.

download the Debian 2.2r3 ISO, install it instead of redhat or mandrake, then apt-get install alien and you can install any redhat package :)

That would work but I don't want to use Debian. I would rather use Mandrake. The port for Mandrake exist, I just wanted to know if anyone has used it, and what their experience was.
