I was considering switching to an Integraph Intense 3D 100 card, but wondering if Linux and XFree86 would support it? Does Linux have support for 3D under XFree86 or any other X-Window environment? Or am I limited to just using TNT and VooDoo cards?

Well no replies in over 20 days must mean that I am s*** out of luck?
I think the card uses the Virte(spelling?) chipset, if that helps anyone? I am not sure on the spelling.

Generally linux users aren't hardcore gamers, so game support under linux is not on par with Windows. I can't tell you if XFree86 would support that card but there's bound to be a hardware compatability list somewhere (help me out here Eccentric! hehe...). If it's a fairly popular chipset then X will have support for it.

www.xfree86.org (http://www.xfree86.org)
There's a chipset compatibility list on their site.
There is no 3D support for TNT by the way, only Voodoo.

Thanks for the relies guys, I am sorry to see only 3D support for VooDoo cards.
There is more to 3D than just games. Real time 3D modeling and Ray Tracing are just two of them.
Apparently I bought the wrong card, now I'll have to spend at least $98+ to get a VooDoo card to run under Linux for 3D Support.
Hint: since there aren't many 3D enhanced software under Linux, there should be room for companies to start making them.
Doom and Quake run so much better under Linux than Windows or MacOS anyway. http://discussions.linuxplanet.com//smile.gif
