SIS audio card problems

I currently have Mandrake 8.1 installed on my system. I am having a problem getting my SiS audio card to.. well work.
its an SiS 7018, anyone with any prior experience with this problem out there with some helpful words? =) ive been going at this for a while... and i cant afford a new sound card at the momentt, so that option is out =).

Again try a Google search for the SiS 7018 as I have no idea what modules it uses or even if it's supported.

The sis audio card you're talking about uses the trident module. Just look under sound options in the kernel config and either build in or modularize the trident/Nwave/sis soundcard option... It worked like a charm on my old machine!
