I am very new to linux (as in less than a month), I have SUSE 7.2 Personal. I cannot figure out how to mount my cd rom. whenever I try to it mounts my cd-rw. When i*try to mount my cd-rw, it mounts my cd-rw. the cd rom worked fine for the install, but now, I can't figure out how to acces it. I want to direct copy some cd's
(i don't have any room on my harddrive). Any help is greatly appreciated

Have you setup the scsi emulation that's necessary for ide cdrw's?

There are quite a few recents threads in General, Software, Hardware and Technical on the very same topic that may help you.

Post a copy of your /etc/fstab file. I assume you actually haven't advanced to the level of burning yet since you can't get access to your CDROM, right?

Hi! In suse you must make a decision, you must chose do i mount cd-rom on my cd-rw drive or my cd drive, when you choose what to use as root do like this: yast and then should appear something that says media, in that menu you choose your drive, after you choose, for mount the cd-rom all you need to do is mount /dev/cdrom
Thats about it, i hope i have been clear and helpfull.
Sorry about my bad english writing :)
