Palm Pilot

I need to make a /dev/pilot but i know i can't just touch /dev/pilot
I need to know the command and more importantly the major and minor device numbers to use....
any help here.....
just telling my exactly what to type would be greatly appreciated...

/dev/pilot has to be a symlink (ln -s) to the hardware location of your cradle. Mine looks like this :
5 Aug 20 13:43 /dev/pilot -> ttyS1
as my cradle is on com2. I can't help with the numbers, I have never needed to know that. Permissions on this have to be set such that users can r/w it.
