the G90f (http://www.viewsonic.com/products/productdetail.cfm?productid=0004DC09-0710-1A02-AC3E80C4C7BE0000)
looks nice at only $338
but the PF790 (http://www.viewsonic.com/products/productdetail.cfm?productid=000EF2EB-970A-1908-829D80C4C7BE010C) for $367 might be better?

Go with what you want. You wont be disappointed in either one. I am pretty sure the professional series one is a better overall monitor and the graphics one is more for cad work and stuff like that. They are both excellent monitors though.

ViewSonic of course.
Sony - can't go wrong although a bit pricey.
Samsung - as their top of the line flat screen 19" has gotten good reviews.
I have a Compaq P900 19" with Trinitron Tube at the office. Runs X at 1600x1200 16bit and has one beautiful crisp clear image.
At home I have a Optiquest V95 19" which is no hell. Hope to replace one day with perhaps the Compaq P1100 21". I did the testing a few months ago on new PC's for our department and Compaq sent the P1100. One great monitor. VP wanted our department to get the 21", but felt other would complain, so we settled on the 19.

As pretty much all Trinitron monitors are OEM Sony's, likely this is the case with Viewsonic as well.
The difference between the Professional and home series monitors for the current line of Sony displays, is the maximum refresh rate at the maximum resolution, and possibly the warranty length. So unless you run at insanely high resolutions regularly, save you money and go fo the cheaper monitor.
The flat screen trinitrons are really, really nice.
