no mouse or keyboard

I am running RH 7.1 and I had to change my mouse after install. Harder than it sounds. I tried switching while logged on as root using the Control Panel > Mouse and I got to select a mouse from a list but after I closed out neither my mouse nor my keyboard works. My keyboard works during boot at command prompt but when KDE comes up they're both gone. I can't even navigate through login using ALT-TAB. I tried plugging in the boot disk I made at install but I don't know the right commands and I don't have the manual. I read that it's at www.redhat (http://www.redhat) so I'm going to go look there but I thought I'd post here too. Thanks in advance. Viva La Revolucion!

AT the root prompt, try /sbin/mouseconfig (may need to check the spelling, just do cd /sbin and then ls). ;)
