I think that I already have a video card built into my comp, as in it is not a PCI, ISA, or AGP card, but actually physically attached to the CPU.

I want to install a different video card, but I'm pretty sure that I can't have both my video cards at the same time. I've tried, and the monitor just doesn't respond.

So, my questions are:

1) any way to make both cards work at the same time?

2) If not, how to disable the built in card?

O, and thanks to everyone who responded to my last post.

older mobo's with built in video have a jumper to disable the onboard video

newer ones, it might be a bios setting
try checking the mobo manual or mobo maker website

you can't use both, i don't think

its not possible to use both of them, cuz the software and hardware doesn't cooperate, they don't know to which card to send the data to. So what you do is install the new graphic card, and then go into the bios, and disable the old one. the old one is probably gonna be known as default or so. deactivate it, and restart your PC. it should work. Howerver, the steps are these: install graphics board->install drivers and software-> then deactivate the old card

hope this helps
