The company I work for is moving an office and forgot to mention it to me, so the data lines will not be moved at the same time the office is (atually they should be about two weeks behind).

I've have setup a Linux server that will be used to masquerade connections to the Internet so users can connect to the corporate network through our VPN.

Before I purchase the external modem to be used for this purpose, is there any brand/make/model that I should avoid? Or is there one that just simply stands out above the rest?

Thanks for your help.

i have used a couple different ext modems with linux, all worked just fine

if money isn't tight, get a US Robotics model 5686, v.92

if you want to go cheaper, then what ever you can find should be fine, as you said external is the way to go, simple/easy/effective

good luck!! :)
