Hi folks.

Has anyone found a site to download the Mandrake 8.0 ISO files that has any kind of bandwidth? I've tried a dozen or so sites that I found with Google and the best bandwidth I can get is about 70K/second. My cable modem can handle 200 - 300 K/second if I could find a server that would push it that fast.

It's looking like getting them in the mail from www.cheapbytes.com (http://www.cheapbytes.com) might be faster than downloading 2 650+Meg files at this rate. :)

Thanks

Huh? What's the problem? 650MB at 70Kb/s takes a little over 2.5 hours. That's not too bad, is it? It usually takes me 12 hours to d/l one disk image so don't complain :p

I think the most complete mirror list is the one on mandrake's website: http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/ftp.php3

After an hour of downloading and watching my transfer rate drop to less than 40K/second I found this site: http://ftp.eecs.umich.edu/pub/linux/mandrake/iso/

So far I seem to be averaging about 130 to 140K/sec

I started at 1.5 then it dropped to 900, I'm averaging 550-667.
Not bad.

LinuxISO.org will "automagically" find an ftp site for you. You may want to try going through a couple of those.
