I am a total newbie, and I can't get Linux to use my cable modem for internet connection. I am using draknet to configure the network, should I "configure a cable modem" or "configure Local Area Network", I think it must be one of these two options.

When it asks for host name should i provide my computer's name on the @home network or the address "clmba1.mo.home.com". Also do I need to provide proxy information or just leave that blank?

Thanks!

Yeah your computer has to have the host name that you got from @home or you won't get assigned an IP from their dhcp servers.

You need the host name @home gives you. If they give you a static IP then you will need that. If they are dhcp then you need to go to a terminal window and run 'dhcpcd -h [computername]' if this does not run then you need to load the dhcp & dhcpcd modules. Drakrpm I think is the tool for this. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.
After running that you should come back to a promt without any data return. Open a web browser at this point and see if you can get to any web sight.
Hope this helps. :D
