I use Road Runner of San Diego. Easy to set-up and use. Once you get the NIC installed and set-up ensure that you set your system up with DHCP. Then it's a simple matter of issueing the folowing command as root:

[root@localhost root]# ifup eth0 [ENTER]

the last part of the eth0 is the number zero.
When you want to bring your network down issue the command below:
[root@localhost root]# ifdown eth0 [ENTER]

I know this is a linux board but if you have a windows partition, as alot of us do, head over to www.speedguide.net (http://www.speedguide.net) and check out some of their patches and tweaks. I dont know if there are any tweaks for linux though.

From hearing on this board and other places,I would avoid a usb install. When the tech gets there tell him/her you want a pci nic.
