Trying to set up Soldier of Fortune for linux. I have a raedon 32mg ddr vid crd. I can't find the libGL package on the cd (by the file name libGL, unless it's in another package) or at the loki games websight. The setup appeared to go fine. But it won't run. It hangs on vid init. Obviously I'm looking in the wrong place or I just plain screwed up but -- where?!
Guy's you're the real guru's not me. I am just a grasshopper trying not to leave footprints in the rice paper. Got a ways to go for that. Those of you old enough (like me) to remember the show know what I mean.
Thanks, Ladies and gentlmen.

Umm... I think the default renderer is for SDL, not Mesa.

Do you have SDL installed and such? Or have you modified the config to run with the other renderer?

Also, if you have bandwidth, there is a updater that is like apt-get for games - I was able to update and install UT, SoF, Descent3, and Heavy Gear II on the phat pipe at work in a hour, and most of that was waiting on my slow-*** 8x cdrom.
