I got the ISO image of Mandrake 8 on a CD which my verion of Mandrake 7.2 can see, but how can I install or upgrade with it.
Now matter how much I click it, nothing happens. (I have tried to read docs on several forums, but I just can not figure what they mean

You can upgrade by putting the cd in the cd-drive and rebooting. When you get to LILO or whatever boot manager you're using select 'floppy'. Make sure there isn't a floppy in the floppy-drive. The upgrade should kick in after that. Then select 'upgrade' when prompted.

I bet you did the same thing I did....you burned the ISO file right??
with your burner software, <mine was ez CD creator>click on file, then creat CD from image, then choose the ISO file...it will "extract" the files....after you burned them correctly, then you will be able to launch it from floppy.....

Hi thanks for making me think about the CD.
It was so simple afterall.
I burned a copy of the ISO on CD - a trackfile that makes a raw image (whatever that is) Changed the CMOS to boot on CDrom and then the Mandrake booted by itself and installed itself. :)
