Hi All!

Here is the deal: One linux box with internet
DSL sharing with a Win98SE. The linux box is using PMFirewall for ip-chain masquerading...

Question now: Is it safe/secure enough this way? I would presume that the answer is "no". If so, what should I do?

Im newbie so please, be as clear as possible.
Thanks!

run the vulnerability check at www.vulnerabilities.org/nessusfreehtml.html (http://www.vulnerabilities.org/nessusfreehtml.html)

if you don't like what it says, then switch ;)

PMFirewall is just a front-end for the standard firewall. It just passes parameters to the firewall in the kernel by using the standard userland tools.

Can you dump the firewall script it uses, and look at it? Check it over yourself. I'd never use any sort of fireall unless I can see exactly what it does.
