I hooked my serial cradel for my brand new Visor Platinum up to my serial port. I told my system to use /dev/ttyS1. irq 3 is clean and the proper serial port is open. setserial /dev/ttyS1 reveals:
bash$ setserial /dev/ttyS1
/dev/ttyS1, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x02f8, IRQ: 3
When I try to sync or something, the proper io ports and IRQs are used. I have tried this in gpilot, jpilot, and kpilot. The perms on /dev/ttyS1 are 666 with the owner being root and group being tty. My user is in the tty group.
