Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Problems with my US Robotics Courier v.somethingorother 56k
I recently acquired a new modem over ebay and they told me that it was possible to make it work in linux. I bought it so I could stop using the external courier v.everything that I borrowed from a friend. He told me that it would work pretty much just as well as the external version did, but alas, I get nothing from it...I've tried many things, but I just can't seem to find the right jumper configuration for it. Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me? Thanks, I hope...

Find the manual online at the 3com site?
Once that is done, disable your on-board com2 and set teh jumpers to use the standard com2 io/irq info, and you should be set.

I have the v.everything too, but it works fine with windoze. I can't get Mandrake 9.0 to recognize it. Any suggestions?
You can e-me at bigrick@usa.com

 I had the same problem. I was running Red Hat 7.1 and got a new Robotics Modem. I upgraded to Red Hat 8.0 to take advantage of the 2.4 kernel. Modem worked like a dream after kernel upgrade!

I also have a USR V.Everything being used on a dual O.S. My SuSE 8.1 is 3 weeks old and tried your solution: "Once that is done, disable your on-board com2 and set the jumpers to use the standard com2 io/irq info, and you should be set."
Results No modem present!
What Now. See my V.Everything 03/05/03 posting!
What now Boss?
